”103   Albert Edelfeldfs 1858 plan for Uusikaarlepyy represents a plan produced in accordance with the general urban building code of 1856 in which once again an effort was made to adapt the Finnish grid plan to a new form. Leading motifs in this plan included a wealth of landscaping with trees and variations in the structure of blocks.”
